Change Your Mindset, Change Your Life.

Because I believe that everyone, despite personal circumstances or life challenges have a unique set of gifts and capabilities that are there waiting to be harnessed. Sometimes the challenges of life get in the way of fully realizing our gifts and talents.

And if you are a human being living on planet earth we are all blessed with challenges and obstacles no matter how successful and accomplished we are.

I have spent the last 15+ years developing innovative ways to grow and help others. I'm passionate about living with great purpose and I'm insatiably focused on helping others do the same. There's nothing more liberating and inspiring than seeing my clients come alive by the discovery of a way how.

Trauma and negative change creates circumstances in life you don’t choose. Healing is about embracing real change you do choose.

I can help you to work less, stress less, BE and DO more with YOUR life...

What I have noticed about human behavior:

Most people are spending their time and energies in the wrong place

People tend to not focus their time, energy, business, and interpersonal relationships effectively because of learned habits and behaviors that have proven to serve or greatest good.

Theses habits are hard to break not because people don't want to or don't have the ability to. It is because our brain is wired to follow habits and patterns of behavior even if the behaviors prove to be detrimental to our relationships, finances, career, and health.

Most people create their own strategies based what they observe from others (parents, co-workers, etc) and do not see the "forest from the trees" when learning more effective ways of managing stress, work pressures and relationships.

Who wants to just 'get by'?

We all have a need to make a difference for ourselves, our families and our communities, yet the ability to do this doesn't find itself anywhere near 'getting by'. At some stage we all ask ourselves - what difference do I make to my world? Am I heard by those around me?

Philosophers and psychologists have studied mindset for centuries, but the past decade has seen a real interest in the ability to change your mind at will.

So whether you are here to figure out the best way to get through a difficult season in your life, create more focus, unlock the grip of self sabotage, begin to thrive after a major life trauma, or navigate the corporate ladder, or live out your purpose, you're in the right place.

  • What is an Intuitive Mindset Coach?

The Proper Definition of a 'Coach'

Professional Coaching is a partnership between a qualified coach and an individual or team that supports the achievement of extraordinary results, based on goals

set by the individual or team. Through the process of coaching individuals focus on the skills and actions needed to successfully produce their personally relevant results.

The individual or team chooses the focus of conversation, while the coach listens and contributes observations and questions as well as concepts and principles which can assist in generating possibilities and identifying actions. Through the coaching process the clarity that is needed to support the most effective actions is achieved. Coaching accelerates the individual's or team’s progress by providing greater focus and awareness of possibilities leading to more effective choices. Coaching concentrates on where individuals are now and what they are willing to do to get where they want to be in the future.

What are the Benefits of Coaching?

Individuals who engage in a coaching relationship can expect to experience fresh perspectives on personal challenges and opportunities, enhanced thinking and decision making skills, enhanced interpersonal effectiveness, and increased confidence in carrying out their chosen work and life roles. Consistent with a commitment to enhancing their personal effectiveness, they can also expect to see appreciable results in the areas of productivity, personal satisfaction with life and work, and the achievement of personally relevant goals.

What is an Intuitive Mindset Coach?

While working with an intuitive coach you can expect to confront issues that have been holding you back. As uncomfortable confrontation can be it’s often necessary for healing.

Recognizing your issues, strengths, and weaknesses is a first step to provide invaluable guidance.

Intuitive coaches typically work with energy the client projects to help facilitate cathartic resolution of blockage present. An intuitive coach senses the blockages to help root out the source of your pain. They can then assist you by guiding you through the process of introducing new habits, thoughts, and beliefs that support the life you want to live.

This work supports clients to bring thoughts, words and actions into alignment with personal truths, values and character.

The human brain (through evolution) is programmed to focus on fear, failure, and it is not your fault

During the first eighteen years of our lives, if we grew up in fairly average, reasonable, positive homes, we were told "No," or what we could not do, more than 148,000 times. If you were somewhat more fortunate, you may have been told "No" only 100,000 times, or 50,000 times. However many, it was considerably more negative programming than any of us needs.

Meanwhile, during the same eighteen year time period, how often do you suppose you were told what you can do or what you can accomplish in life? A few thousand times? A few hundred times? Whatever the number, for most of us the "yes's" we received simply didn't balance out the "no's."

The occasional words of "belief" were unfortunately just that — occasional — and they were far outweighed by our daily doses of "cannots."

Through scientific discovery we have proved the relationship between our own "mental programming" and the matter of whether we will succeed or fail in any endeavor we undertake in life. Think for a moment of some of the things you would like to accomplish, or achieve in your life. Earn more income, have a better family life, improve your skills...

Whatever means you choose to make the change, unless you first begin to change your old "programming," the years of conditioning that keeps you doing it the old way, the likely outcome is that what you want to accomplish will not work, or will not last."

    The Process:

    • I explore through conversation, questions and experiential processes to discover those sought after A-HA moments that begin to reshape your reality.
    •  All of us have a history - a detailed past that for some is very troubling and even horrific. Others have coasted along through life without much of a problem or too many eventful situations. Either way, we have learned how to do what we are doing (consciously or otherwise) and you may have just now decided that you aren't happy or that you are not where you want to be in life and maybe you even have something specific that you want to change or do differently.

    My approach:

    •  What fears are holding you back, how do you self-sabotage?
    • One of the things that people really appreciate about working with me is that I don't  need to hear about the context of what you are going through.
    •  I don't need all the details of your story in order to be effective. It can be very comforting for a perspective client to know that it is not necessary to dig up all of the past in order to move forward today.

I pay attention to the structure of the 'issues'. I pay attention to the HOW that supports the pattern of behavior or thinking in order for it to remain. When we discover the unconscious or subconscious (however you think about it) programs and patterns that are in play, we can then insert options and other possibilities which impact your results. And when we make shifts in the structure of the problem, you don't have to consciously "remember to be different" - you simply operate from a new pattern - a new way of being that supports how you want to live your life.

We notice our limitations and the walls we hit in both personal and professional aspects of our lives. Here are just a couple that I notice on a daily basis.

In your personal life do you find you are:

    • Concerned about what other people think or say about you?
    • Putting yourself second, third or more commonly, LAST?
    • Unhappy with your physical health and yet not doing anything about it?
    • Judgemental towards others and their choices?
    • Stuck in an unpleasant mood or emotion such as shame, guilt, grief, jealousy, hurt, or loneliness?
    • Uncomfortable talking to new people or asking for help?
    • Often blaming the situation, other people or your 'bad luck' for what goes wrong?
    • Wishing and hoping for things to be different?
    • Nervous when asked to speak to a group?
    • Procrastinate and put off tasks?
    • Second guess or doubt your decisions and abilities?
    • Hesitate or not ask for assistance because it might not "look good"?
    • Get frustrated and feel dumped on?
    • Feel upset when someone else seems to be on a power trip?
    • Wish you had more confidence and self esteem?
    • Look down on other people and compare yourself?
    • My philosophy is that as humans, it is our responsibility to seek the help we need when you need it. Fundamentally, life is meant to be peaceful, enjoyable, rewarding, fun, connected and fulfilling among many other wonderful things.

What are typically some reasons someone might work with a coach:

    • There is something at stake (a challenge, stretch, goal or opportunity), and it is urgent, compelling or exciting or all of the above
    • There is a gap in knowledge, skills, confidence, or resources
    • A big stretch is being asked or required, and it is time sensitive
    • There is a need for a course correction in work or life due to a setback
    • An individual has a style of relating that is ineffective or is not supporting the achievement of one’s personally relevant goals
    • There is a lack of clarity, and there are choices to be made
    • The individual is extremely successful, and success has started to become problematic
    • Work and life are out of balance, and this is creating unwanted consequences
    • One has not identified his or her core strengths and how best to leverage them
    • The individual desires work and life to be simpler, less complicated
    • There is a need and a desire to better organized and more self-managing

    How is Coaching Delivered?

The Coaching Process — Coaching typically begins with a personal interview (either face-to-face or by teleconference call) to assess the individual’s current opportunities and challenges, define the scope of the relationship, identify priorities for action, and establish specific desired outcomes. Subsequent coaching sessions may be conducted in person or over the telephone, with each session lasting a previously established length of time. Between scheduled coaching sessions, the individual may be asked to complete specific actions that support the achievement of one’s personally prioritized goals. The coach may provide additional resources in the form of relevant articles, checklists, assessments, or models, to support the individual’s thinking and actions. The duration of the coaching relationship varies depending on the individual’s personal needs and preferences.

Assessments — A variety of assessments are available to support the coaching process, depending upon the needs and circumstances of the individual. Assessments provide objective information which can enhance the individual’s self-awareness as well as awareness of others and their circumstances, provide a benchmark for creating coaching goals and actionable strategies, and offer a method for evaluating progress.

Concepts, models and principles — A variety of concepts, models and principles drawn from the behavioral sciences, management literature, spiritual traditions and/or the arts and humanities, may be incorporated into the coaching conversation in order to increase the individual’s self-awareness and awareness of others, foster shifts in perspective, promote fresh insights, provide new frameworks for looking at opportunities and challenges, and energize and inspire the individual’s forward actions.

Appreciative approach — Coaching incorporates an appreciative approach. The appreciative approach is grounded in what’s right, what’s working, what’s wanted, and what’s needed to get there. Using an appreciative approach, the coach models constructive communication skills and methods the individual or team can utilize to enhance personal communication effectiveness. The appreciative approach incorporates discovery-based inquiry, proactive (as opposed to reactive) ways of managing personal opportunities and challenges, constructive framing of observations and feedback in order to elicit the most positive responses from others, and envisioning success as contrasted with focusing on problems. The appreciative approach is simple to understand and employ, but its effects in harnessing possibility thinking and goal-oriented action can be profound.

Within the partnership what does the coach do? The individual?

The role of the individual or team is to create the coaching agenda based on personally meaningful coaching goals, utilize assessment and observations to enhance self-awareness and awareness of others, envision personal and/or organizational success, assume full responsibility for personal decisions and actions, utilize the coaching process to promote possibility thinking and fresh perspectives, take courageous action in alignment with personal goals and aspirations, engage big picture thinking and problem solving skills, and utilize the tools, concepts, models and principles provided by the coach to engage effective forward actions.

  • The Strategy

    A No-nonsense Approach to Coaching

What if you had a better life plan? What if you had a well thought out, and well designed blueprint for the rest of your life? One that eliminated uncertainty, doubt, frustration, and fear, and replaced it with confidence, enthusiasm, and excitement.

The impact on your life would be immeasurable.

Your health, your relationships, your sense of purpose and meaning, your productivity, your attitude, your mindset, your sense of joy and fulfillment—it would dramatically change. It would be unequivocal…almost too extraordinary to believe possible.

It would be a chance to live a more successful life in all areas of your life.

My No-Nonsense Strategy is a personal growth coaching program that promises to be a life-changing experience. This strategy is to explore your energy, enthusiasm, productivity and fulfillment through actively identifying the behaviors, attitudes, and life decisions that are currently not working and harnessing a mindset that builds success in your career and relationships.

Each strategy is designed based on your needs (every client is different) and what specific obstacles you are focused on overcoming and what goals you want to achieve.

Here is just one example of a session plan strategy that was designed for a client:

    *Week 1&2

    Awareness | Abundance | Grounding

    • An immediate invitation to change your perspective and your mindset. Without a keen awareness of where you are and how you got there, it’s very difficult to plan for where you’d like to go next. The foundation paved in Week 1&2 will provide the infrastructure for working together…and the rest of your life! Awareness, Abundance, and Grounding is not something to hope for, wish for, or wait for…it’s something that must be built.

    Week 3&4

    Clarity | Courage

    • Those who know not what they want will certainly never reach it. Week 2 is an opportunity to develop clear goals across eight major facets of your life and the strategy that will help you focus on what is most significant. In every instance, the person who has great clarity and vision, and knows exactly what he or she is striving for will out-perform, out-produce, and out-achieve the one who doesn’t. In addition to clarity, we will explore the impact that courage has on your life and discuss how to replace fear with confidence.

    Week 5&6

    Mindset | Activity | Productivity

    • With a clear mind, well-defined goals, and a heightened sense of clarity, learn to prepare and plan like never before. You’ll transition from worrying about what might not get done to being inspired by what will. Tactfully navigate your time and schedule with focus and discipline, and experience an incredible boost to your productivity and achievement.

    Week 7&8

    Choices | Physiology

    • High performers make a decision about what they want (Week 2), they determine what it’s going to take to get there (Week 7&8), and they follow that determination with choices to support it. Learn to be in better control of the choices that lead directly to success and significance in your life. We’ll also discuss physiology and why great energy is irreplaceable. Consistency and commitment are the biggest challenges most people face when it comes to their energy and health. In Week 7&8, we’ll chart out a plan to make healthier decisions a part of your strategy and a part of your life.

    Week 9&10

    Conditioning | Psychology Mastery

    • When we talk about conditioning the mind, very similar to conditioning the body, we’re talking about getting the mind in the condition or shape it needs to be in order to perform at a high level, especially when fatigue sets in. Except now, it’s not the physical fatigue of running or performing. It’s far more significant than that. It’s life fatigue (your out of gas). It’s the challenges and adversity that we face every day. And more importantly, the ability to persevere. Experience the unrivaled benefit of positive psychology and a well-conditioned mind.

    Week 11

    Influence Connection

    • What are you actively doing to raise your level of influence? What are you actively doing to ensure your influence is positive and well-directed? In Week 11, learn how to develop greater influence in your personal and professional relationships. Also, learn the significance in your connection and association with others and how to ensure you’re surrounding yourself with constructive support.

    Week 12

    • The best, brightest, happiest and most fulfilled understand the importance of continued self-education. In Week 12, we will identify ways to continually foster growth and development through self-education and constructive thought. Also, discover how to incorporate greater selflessness into your blueprint and experience the unparalleled abundance and joy that follows as a result.

    Week 13

    Strategy | Commitment

    • The most effective way to live with purpose comes from knowing what you want, creating a game plan to achieve it, and taking consistent action. The first seven weeks speak extensively about this idea. Week 13 will unveil the greatest benefit and gift of personal growth and mindset mastery.

    • Living life with great purpose has become more esoteric and difficult than it has to be. The greatest benefit and success of designing your life strategy is living a life with great purpose and meaning, with great clarity and intent, and a making an investment and commitment in your greatest asset…yourself.

  • My Story

"Change Your Mindset, Change Your Life."

Over 10 years ago I experienced tragedy in my life that I thought would never recover from (the details of which are not important). My life was literally disintegrating before my eyes. In the midst of my darkest days I would wake up two or three times a night (for months) rushing to the toilet just to throw up in utter fear and terror.

I was (in so many words) deeply entangled in a hermetical Bermuda triangle of self pity, deep foreboding, sorrow, and noxious anger. I was completely unaware of an unconscionably menacing tempest of (self perpetuated) victim-hood brewing inside me. It's purpose was to only destroy my sense of self and take away my ability to navigate through life. It was if my life was on auto-tragedy mode (even years after the storm had passed) which would only serve to destroy the most important people in my life (my family and friends) who loved me unconditionally and stood by me unconditionally.

And I have only to blame myself for creating my victim-hood. My family became the proverbial trash receptacle for the past disaster and I punished them veraciously with my toxic hopelessness. I was like that detestable main character Melvin Ferd in the B movie classic, "The Toxic Avenger." Only instead of channeling my anger, sorrow, and desperation into strength (as a survivor) I shared the toxic sludge of victim-hood with everyone around me.

And then one day I got quiet. I stepped out of the victim role

I became healthy again. I started to focus on moving forward with my life again.

And that is how I was able to see for the first time that the noise of tragedy and hopelessness in my head was not my reality. It was just noise.

I allowed myself to focus less on what happened. I started living again. I earned a master's degree, moved to California, and created a thriving practice.

And None of this could of happened without working with a Coach

I am forever indebted to my coach, colleague, and good friend Joe Rabinovitz for helping me get out of my head and my own way.

And yes, it did not happen overnight. It took alot of hard work, money, and grit. It was the best money I ever spent. And it was through working with a coach I discovered my passion for helping others. For the first time in a long I am getting paid to do what I love doing, seeing the talents, gifts, and resilience in people that they don't see in themselves (but will get there from working with me

It has been over ten years since overcoming a life event that I thought I would never recover form again, Today I run a thriving coaching practice and share my life with a wonderful woman. I bask in every lucky moment., no matter how small.

I look forward to harnessing your own internal resilience as my client. So what are you waiting for?

He clearly has great experience and willingness to engage; I felt able to trust him implicitly, and was impressed by the level of his advice and support. Furthermore, his homework was effective! I recommend Sam unreservedly to anyone wanting to get back on track.

    ~ Kyre Adept, PhD

    Santa Barbara, CA

"When I first met Sam, I was at a major turning point in my life. I had managed to graduate from law school, but was overwhelmed by stress and lack of direction. Sam has helped me to map out a plan for me professional career, and to prioritize my other responsibilities. His encouragement has helped me to see my actual potential, and pursue my goals with confidence. I have been able to gain some clarity and now am on track to the take the bar exam. Working with Sam has been a critical element of my success."

    ~ Tyler Cummins, Esq.

University of New Mexico School of Medicine

"Sam's personal life coaching helped me to overcome major personal hurdles. Immediately after the session I felt completely renewed as well as a deeper sense of inner peace. I highly recommend seeing him. " - Thank you Sam!"

~ David Jesse Kennet, Certified Massage Therapist and Holistic Allergist Inc,

    Santa Barbara, CA.

When I began to work at MBRC in August of 2015, I was surprised and pleased that the clients there, who suffer from substance use disorders, had the services of a life coach. People with substance use disorders tend to feel extremely demoralized and lost and have enormous difficulty getting their work and sober social life back on track. Indeed they have a very hard time imagining their lives could ever be on track.

This was where Sam came in. With enthusiasm, humor, dedication and imagination, he would sound the steady drumbeat of self esteem and the possibility of a productive life with MBRC clients. He never seemed to tire of seeking and finding ways to help clients envision a positive future and implement their vsiions for themselves.
Sam also showed a strong interest in collaborating with counselors and therapists at MBRC and in seeing how his services could complement ours. He and I worked on developing assessment tools for life caching services and ways to integrate them more fully into the electronic medical record.

Clients have told me how much they appreciated Sam’s help with everything from scheduling the day with sober activities to planning out steps to become employed in work they found appealing and even inspiring. As one client put it to me recently, “I thought I was worthless and there was nothing good I could do with my life. Sam actually helped me believe in myself.”

~ Dr. David Kerrigan, MSW, PhD
    Clinical Psychologist
    Ventura, CA

When I met Sam Led I was a newly sober man struggling with addiction and temptation. I was recently admitted into a detox that I soon after left against medical advice. Stranded in a new city in desperate need of help I called Sam. He quickly found me a safe place to go, but it’s what Sam did after that would change my life forever.

He encouraged me to reach out to family I hadn’t seen in years, as well as to truly follow my life’s dreams as a writer. Today I can happily say I am sober and actually see and show up for my family as a son and brother, and currently am working on my first novel with active help from Sam. Without Sam Led I know my life would be far from what it is today.
